Sonny Boy Williamson II, born Alex or Aleck Miller (originally Ford), was a legendary American blues harmonica player, singer, and songwriter active mainly in the 1950s and 1960s. Renowned for his powerful harp style and sly vocals, he recorded influential tracks such as “Don’t Start Me Talkin’,” “Help Me,” “Checkin’ Up on My Baby,” and “Bring It On Home.” After early collaborations with artists like Elmore James, he gained international fame touring Europe and working with British rock bands including the Yardbirds and Animals. Known for adopting the name Sonny Boy Williamson, he helped shape modern blues and inspired generations of musicians.
