Shiro Sagisu

Shirō Sagisu is a renowned Japanese composer, arranger, and music producer, active since the late 1970s. He began his career with the jazz fusion band T-Square before focusing on composing and producing for a wide range of artists, including Misia, Satoshi Tomiie, Ken Hirai, and Mike Wyzgowski. Sagisu is especially well known for his influential work in anime and film, most notably his iconic soundtracks for Neon Genesis Evangelion and his long-standing collaborations with the studio Gainax. Over his career, he has created thousands of pieces for music, television, and film, and was awarded Best Music at the Tokyo Anime Awards in 2010. In 2020, his arrangement of the Japanese national anthem was performed at the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony.
