Roberta Flack was an American singer and pianist celebrated for her soulful, genre-crossing ballads that shaped the sound of R and B, jazz, folk, and pop from the 1970s onward. Best known for the classic hits The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Killing Me Softly with His Song, and Feel Like Makin' Love, she became the first artist to win consecutive Grammy Awards for Record of the Year.
