Joyo’s R28 is a powerful overdrive designed for use with bass. With articulate tone sculpting and a range of other useful features, the R28 is suitable for any rig and can give every player the edge they’re looking for! The gain control on the R28 Double Thruster boosts and clips, providing, thick, grinding bass distortion. A key feature for any bass overdrive, the Blend control gives you power over how much of your signal is affected by the drive, and blends in your clean tone to your preference. This is very sought-after for bass effects, as without the clean blend your overdriven sound can quickly get lost in the mix or sound muffled. The Tone control can be used for very articulate Mid and High frequency shaping, and this can really sharpen the edge of the overdrive. With an additional Mid Boost switch, the sharp, grainy drive cuts through, and this gives the pedal very amp-like response to your attack – with the drive reacting entirely differently to pick or finger style playing. The Double Thruster also features an extra Gain Boost switch, for thicker, gnarlier drive, and makes this pedal great for everything from a warm, subtle, rumble, right through to a crushing, chest-thumping, modern grind.
Like all the Revolution series by Joyo, the R28 has a sturdy aluminium enclosure with switchable LED indicators. It runs on standard 9V DC center-negative power supplies and requires only 80mA current draw.
