James Thomas Smith, born on 28 October 1988, is better known as Jamie xx. He is an English musician, DJ, record producer, and remixer. Jamie xx gained acclaim both for his solo projects and as a key member of the indie pop band the xx, playing a major role in the group’s artistic and commercial achievements. As a solo artist, he received a Mercury Prize nomination in 2015 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2016 for his album In Colour.
