Traditional bole paste. Pre‑kneaded, ultra‑fine natural clay designed for preparing the coloured ground layer in classical water gilding (bole gilding) with gold and silver leaf.

The paste form ensures a perfectly smooth, creamy consistency without lumps and significantly simplifies the preparation process. Bole creates an elastic intermediate layer on top of the gesso ground, essential for achieving a high, mirror‑like shine when burnishing gold with an agate stone.
