slowdive is an English rock band from Reading, Berkshire, formed in 1989. The lineup includes Neil Halstead, Rachel Goswell, Christian Savill, Nick Chaplin, and Simon Scott. Known for their lush soundscapes and atmospheric style, they became key figures in the early 1990s UK shoegaze movement with albums like Just for a Day and Souvlaki. After disbanding in 1995 following their third album, Pygmalion, members pursued other projects before reuniting in 2014. Their self-titled return in 2017 and the acclaimed Everything Is Alive in 2023 cemented their lasting influence, with the latter earning top ten chart positions in multiple countries.
