Pungent Stench is a death metal band from Vienna, Austria, known for their distinctive blend of brutal extreme metal and provocative lyrics mixing gore and dark humor. Formed in 1988, the group became influential in the death metal scene with their controversial style. After multiple breakups and reunions, they now perform under the name Schirenc Plays Pungent Stench, led by original member Martin Schirenc, with Jacek Perkowski on bass and Mike G. Mayhem on drums.
