Dolores O'Riordan
Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan was an Irish singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for The Cranberries. Renowned for her distinctive mezzo-soprano voice and unique Limerick accent, she played a major role in shaping the band's sound through both her vocals and guitar work. Emerging from a working-class family in County Limerick, she joined The Cranberries in 1990, leading them to international success with hit albums such as Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We, No Need to Argue, and Bury the Hatchet. Beyond her work with the band, O'Riordan released two solo albums and collaborated with other artists, including the group D.A.R.K. She was also a judge on The Voice of Ireland. Despite her achievements, she struggled with mental health challenges and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder later in life. O'Riordan passed away in 2018. With The Cranberries, she sold nearly 50 million albums worldwide and received multiple honors, including a posthumous Grammy nomination for the band's final album In the End and recognition as the top female artist on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart.
