Each sound is meticulously crafted with realistic articulations, making it perfect for a variety of musical styles, from pop and rock to film scores and classical compositions.

Roland Wave Expansion Boards—The Composer’s Toolkit

Before the rise of virtual instrument plug-ins, Roland keyboards and sound modules were the go-to solution for musicians seeking a diverse range of high-quality sounds. Instruments like the JV-1080, XP-80, and XV-5080 allowed users to expand their sonic palette with user-installable expansion boards, each featuring specialized sampled waveforms tailored for different genres. Since the introduction of the JV-80 synth in 1992, Roland has released over 30 titles across multiple formats, becoming a staple for top producers, composers, and performers worldwide.

Plug In to a Classic

The SRX software synthesizer plug-ins bring the beloved sounds of Roland’s SRX and SR-JV80 wave expansion boards into your modern music production workflow. Utilizing Digital Circuit Behavior (DCB) technology, these plug-ins reproduce every nuance and detail of the original samples, seamlessly integrating advanced behavior modeling that mimics the hardware’s digital components and circuitry. Sounds can be easily edited through an intuitive interface and saved for use in various projects.

Hardware Integration

Each SRX plug-in is equipped with extensive synth editing parameters, allowing you to customize sounds to your liking. Contemporary Roland hardware synthesizers, such as the SYSTEM-8, can map knobs and sliders directly to the plug-ins, enhancing your workflow with hands-on control.
