Modelling Clay. DAS Terracotta Air‑Hardening Modelling Clay is a mineral, self‑hardening clay with a natural terracotta shade reminiscent of fired earthenware. It cures naturally in air without the need for baking or firing. Its fine, even texture makes it easy to work with by hand or using modelling tools. Once smoothed, it reliably holds its shape, does not crack, and allows precise creation of decorations, figurines, reliefs and small artistic objects.

The material is ready for immediate use. With slightly moistened fingers, it can be shaped, joined and smoothed right away. It works exceptionally well in combination with other materials such as wood, cardboard, glass, metal or plastic. The clay dries naturally in air within approximately 12–24 hours, depending on the thickness of the layer. Once fully cured, it becomes strong and stable, suitable for further mechanical processing such as sanding, carving, drilling, painting or varnishing.

Finished pieces can be decorated with tempera and acrylic paints, multi‑surface markers or varnish, giving them a coloured, matte or glossy finish. The clay does not stain hands, is gluten‑free, dermatologically tested and non‑toxic, making it a safe material for school projects, home crafting and professional creative work. It is suitable for older children, teenagers and adults for sculptural, craft and decorative projects.
