D'Addario BW049 Kitarrikeel

80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Single String for Replacement and Custom Sets

The D'Addario BW049 is a single .049" acoustic guitar string from the brand's 80/20 Bronze Wound Singles line, designed as a replacement string or for building custom gauge sets. The 80/20 Bronze alloy was co-created by John D'Addario Sr. and John D'Angelico in the 1930s and remains popular for recording thanks to its bright, crisp, deep, and projecting tone. This particular string carries a round-wound nickel-plated steel wrap with a coated finish, and is manufactured at the company's New York production facility in the USA.

Who It's For

This single string is the right choice for acoustic guitarists who need a replacement bass string or who want to assemble a custom gauge set mixing different string weights. At .049", it works well as a low E or A string in lighter custom sets, or as a replacement for a broken or worn bass string on a standard set. The 80/20 Bronze tone appeals to traditionalists and vintage enthusiasts, and the coated finish helps the string resist oxidation for longer life between changes. All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA.
