Bullet for My Valentine, known as BFMV, is a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. Originally starting out as Jeff Killed John and covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana, the band eventually changed their name and sound. The current lineup features Matthew Tuck on vocals and rhythm guitar, Michael Paget on lead guitar, Jason Bowld on drums, and Jamie Mathias on bass. Influenced by classic metal acts like Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Slayer, BFMV quickly became a key part of the Cardiff music scene. The band's debut album, The Poison, was released in 2005 in the UK and 2006 in the US, earning gold certification and marking the start of their global success. They followed up with several high-charting albums including Scream Aim Fire, Fever, Temper Temper, Venom, Gravity, and their self-titled release in 2021. With over three million albums sold worldwide and multiple Kerrang Awards, Bullet for My Valentine is one of the most successful British metal bands of their generation.
