XLN Audio took real mint-condition electronic drum machines from the '80s, and recorded them through Neve 1073 preamps onto half inch reels of audio tape on a two channel 1/2" Ampex tape machine with heavy saturation. By using the kick and snare microphone balance settings in Addictive Drums you can mix between the clean and the saturated signal.
They also added a special Stocktronics RX4000 Plate reverb, and real room ambiance, which you can dial up or down, allowing you to go from raw electronic sounds to large and roomy. The included presets cover electronic styles ranging from eighties pop to house, dubstep, drum & bass and techno.
