Saw some old (4-5 years) reviews on this mic and I was impressed with the quality of sound there. But after a purchase I found out that modern V moda boompro mics has VERY bad sound. I paired it with my Philips SHP9500, just like many ppl who bought this mic. Let me explain in more details: 1. Too much background and even static noise. 2. Too sensitive - picks up EVERY sound around you in the room, everyone will hear how you click your mouse, keyboard or even breathe if your level is too high. Also it picks up sounds when you touch the cable of the mic, right until the mute/level button, which is crazy, sound goes through the cable right into the mic. 3. For some reason monitoring is ALWAYS on so you will hear some strange "echoes" until you find the way to disable the monitoring (I found the way only when using external sound card SBx G5) The sound is bad even when using external sound cards - Creative BlasterX G5 and some noname cheap one were tested. Creative one removes the noise completely BUT it also makes the sound like a cheap 3$ mic. And when using with motherboard ports on a pc - do not even try, because in addition you will receive also static interference. Can not recommend at all! Wish I could do a refund without additional moves but V-moda made sure it is not that easy.
