Roland FP-30X White — Authentic Piano Feel in a Portable Stage Piano

Pairing Roland's SuperNATURAL Piano engine with the PHA-4 Standard keyboard in a slim 88-key chassis weighing 14.8 kg, the Roland FP-30X White sits as a practical middle ground between home practice and small-venue performance. Pianists seeking genuine grand-piano response without a console footprint will find authentic weighted action, expressive piano tone, and modern wireless connectivity in one compact instrument.

What Sets the FP-30X Apart in the Mid-Price Portable Tier

Two features push this model above typical mid-price portables. The PHA-4 Standard keyboard pairs Progressive Hammer Action with escapement and Ivory Feel surfaces, producing the subtle "click" at each press that mimics an acoustic action. The 11-watt-per-side stereo speakers deliver more body than the 6-7 watt category average.

Keyboard and Touch Response — Player-Focused Expression

This keybed is the same Roland deploys across its premium portable line. Progressive hammer weighting gives the bass end a heavier feel and the treble end a lighter response, supporting classical repertoire.

• Keys: 88 full-size — full concert range for graded repertoire.
• Action: PHA-4 Standard with Escapement and Ivory Feel — weighted plastic keys with the tactile "let-off" of an acoustic grand.
• Touch curves: 5 types plus fixed touch — match response to any player.

Sound Engine and Polyphony — Sustained Realism

Roland's SuperNATURAL Piano engine layers behavioural modelling on top of piano samples, so dynamics shift naturally with playing intensity. The FP-30X sits at the top of its class with 256-note polyphony.

• Sound engine: SuperNATURAL Piano — Roland's flagship modelling approach for piano voices.
• Polyphony: 256 notes — sustains layered chords and heavy pedal work without drop-outs.
• Tones: 56 from panel, 321 via Piano App — broad palette for jazz, classical, pop, and stage use.

Connectivity, Speakers, and Recording — Built for Modern Workflows

Bluetooth audio streams songs through the onboard speakers for play-along, while Bluetooth MIDI links to composition apps without cables. USB adds computer integration for DAW recording and playback of WAV, MP3, and Standard MIDI Files.

• Bluetooth: Audio Ver 3.0 + MIDI Ver 4.0 — wireless streaming and app control from iOS, Android, and macOS.
• Speakers: 12 cm x 2, 11 W per channel — full-range stereo monitoring.
• Inputs: 3.5 mm TRS headphones, damper pedal, soft pedal — silent practice plus half-damper expression with an optional DP-10 pedal.
• Recording: Onboard MIDI recorder, ~500 KB per song — capture practice sessions.

Who Should Choose the Roland FP-30X White

The Roland FP-30X White is the right choice for students, adult returners, and gigging keyboardists who need authentic piano feel in a portable package. Home players benefit from the slim 1,300 mm-wide chassis, twin headphone outputs, and Twin Piano mode for side-by-side lessons. Working musicians get Bluetooth MIDI, quarter-inch stereo outputs, and an optional KPD-70 triple pedal unit.

Roland and the FP-X Series

Roland has built its reputation on digital piano innovation since the 1970s, and the FP-X series represents the company's portable flagship line. The FP-30X sits between the entry-level FP-10 and the advanced FP-60X and FP-90X. Optional accessories — KSC-70 stand, KPD-70 triple pedal unit, and DP-10 half-damper pedal — let players build a complete upright-style setup.
